MathPad is a calculator and math notepad for iPhone and iPad, published by Benjamin Majkut. You can type math or take a photo of handwritten work to have it read and checked. If something isn’t working or you have a question or feature request, we’re happy to help.

Frequently asked questions

Where are my notes stored?

On your device. If you have iCloud enabled, iOS can sync them across your devices through your Apple account. See the Privacy Policy for details.

I deleted the app — can I get my notes back?

Deleting the app removes its local data. If iCloud sync was on, reinstalling and signing in to the same Apple account restores synced content. Without iCloud, deleted local data cannot be recovered.

Why does MathPad ask for camera access?

So you can take a picture of handwritten math or work and have MathPad read and check it. The camera is used only when you start a photo check. MathPad does not open your photo library and does not record video or audio.

What happens to the photos I take?

Each photo is sent to Google’s Gemini API to read and check the math it contains, then the result is returned to you. We don’t store the photo on our servers; a copy stays on your device and you can delete it in the app anytime. Photos are not used for advertising or sold. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my data?

Notes and photos on your device: delete them in the app, or delete the app. Check counts and subscription status on our servers: email bmajkut9@gmail.com and we will delete it.

How do I report a bug or wrong result?

Email us at bmajkut9@gmail.com with the exact expression or steps that produced it so we can reproduce it.

Purchases & subscriptions

MathPad offers two paid options:

100 checks — $2.99. A one-time purchase that adds 100 checks. It does not renew.
Monthly subscription — $4.99/month. An auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase and renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

On your device, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions (or open the App Store, tap your profile photo, then Subscriptions). Select MathPad to change or cancel it. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current billing period ends.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device?

Sign in to the same Apple ID and reopen MathPad. Subscriptions restore automatically; use the in-app Restore Purchases option if a previous purchase doesn’t appear.

How do I request a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple. Request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
